The heart is the most vital organ of the body. Surah Yaseen is known as the “Heart of the Quran.” We will discuss the importance and the benefits of Surah YAseen. Our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said that “in everything, there is one heart, Surah Yaseen is the heart of the Holy Quran”.
Introduction of Surah Yaseen
Every Surah has consequences in the Quran. However, Surah Yaseen holds a different weight from other Surahs. The revelation period of Surah Yaseen is 619-620 AD, and it is considered Makki Surah. In Surah Yaseen, there are 83 verses. And Surah Yaseen is the thirty-fourth chapter of the Quran. The Surah is called “Ya-Sin” because it begins with disjoined letters(Ya and Sin). This surah is also called “Habib al- Najjar ”.
What are the features/themes of the Surah Yaseen?
In Surah Yaseen, ALLAH(SWT) explains an important subject for human beings. This Surah is concerned with the three principles of monotheism, prophethood, and resurrection. There is a reference to the revival of the dead and the talking of the different parts of the human body on the day of judgment. The stories of “Ashab al-Qarya ” (people of the village) and the believer in Al Yasin occur in this Surah. At the start of the Surah ALLAH (SWT) exalts the personality of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) and said that “indeed you, [ O Muhammad], are from among the messengers(3) on a straight path. (4) [this is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the merciful(5)”

1) Source of unlimited virtues and values
Surah Yaseen proves as a source of unlimited virtues and values from ALLAH (SWT). When a person recites Surah Yaseen his/her connection becomes strong with ALLAH (SWT). His faith and belief become stronger due to the benevolence of ALLAH. Surah Yaseen is known by the name of being the heart of the Quran. And the heart is considered more valuable than other parts of the body.
2) Source of forgiveness
When a person recites Surah Yaseen, and after the recitation, if he prays for forgiveness ALLAH(SWT) forgives his sins. Our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said that “whoever recited Surah Yaseen at the night seeking ALLAH approval, ALLAH would him” ALLAH (SWT) forgives all his sins because ALLAH loves those people who repent and seek forgiveness.
3) Ease the death
When a person is going to die, he feels helpless and faces unbearable pain. In this condition, if someone recites Surah Yaseen in a loud voice, ALLAH (SWT) makes death easier. Our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said that “ recite Surah Yaseen on those who are dying”(Sunan Abi Dawud)
4) Aids in worldly problems
Nowadays everyone faces a lot of problems. If a person wants to avoid difficulties and hardship then try to recite the Surah Yaseen on a daily basis. ALLAH (SWT)blessed those people who recited Surah Yaseen. Because Prophet said that “ one who recites Surah Yaseen in the morning, ALLAH (SWT) will be responsible for fulfilling all his needs”
5) It will help on the day of resurrection
On the Day of Judgment, everyone looks upon the mercy of ALLAH (SWT). In a difficult situation, those people who are the reciters of Surah Yaseen, ALLAH (SWT) will give them the highest rank in paradise.
6) Source of intercession
When a person recites the Quran or the verses of the Surah Yaseen, angels record his recited words. On the Day of judgment, these words prove fruitful. On that day when everyone is worried about their good and bad deeds, then the Quran will fight for intercession for the reader. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that “indeed in the noble Quran there is a Surah, for its reading will intercede and will be a means of forgiveness for the listener. Listen carefully, it is Surah Yaseen, in the Torah it is called Muimmah”
7) Receive a reward from ALLAH (SWT)
When a person recites the verses of Surah Yaseen, ALLAH (SWT) provides him with a reward on the day of resurrection. Surah Yaseen ALLAH (SWT) mentions the day of resurrection. Our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said that “whoever reads Surah Yaseen, ALLAH (SWT) rewards him that is equal to that of reading the Whole Quran”. In the narration of Ataa (R.A), it is reported that the Prophet (PBUH) said that “whoever recites Surah Yaseen at the beginning of the day, and then he will be in ease and goodness until the evening. And whoever recites it in the evening, and then he will be in ease and goodness until the next morning.”
8) Source of mercy, if recited at the graveyard
Allah’s (SWT) blessing will not stop after one’s death. Our Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) said “whoever enters the graveyard, and reads Surah Yaseen their punishment will reduce that day and he will have a reward equal to the number of people in the graveyard”. So it is our responsibility to recite it at the graveyard for loved ones.
9) Benefits of Surah Yaseen during pregnancy
If a female recites Surah Yaseen during pregnancy she will receive a lot of advantages from ALLAH (SWT). In this period, females struggle between life and death. So if she recites Surah Yaseen with attention then ALLAH (SWT) makes it easier during pregnancy.
Importance and benefits of Surah Yaseen after Fajar prayer
When we recite Surah Yaseen after the prayer of Fajar ALLAH (SWT) gives a lot of advantages
- We can overcome our worries
- ALLAH fulfill our wishes when we recite Surah Yaseen
- If we recite Surah Yaseen at the start of the day, ALLAH protects us during our day.
